How we research

Carrier roaming rates are verified against official pricing pages monthly. We check AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, EE, Vodafone, and Telstra international roaming rate cards and document every change.

eSIM provider pricing is checked weekly against Airalo, Holafly, Saily, and Nomad. We buy plans at full retail and test them in real destinations. No comp accounts. No press access. No sponsored placements.

How we calculate

Our bill calculator uses each carrier's published international roaming pass rate as the baseline. For carriers without a pass, we use the per-MB rate multiplied by estimated usage. eSIM costs use Airalo's average $4.50/GB as the comparison baseline.

Savings percentages compare the carrier roaming cost against the eSIM alternative for the same trip duration and data usage. Actual savings vary by destination, carrier plan, and provider choice.

Editorial policy

We recommend the cheapest plan that works, not the one that pays us most. Provider rankings are based on coverage breadth, per-GB pricing, app quality, and customer support responsiveness. We disclose affiliate relationships where they exist.
